I have been active for a long time in many professional societies, for example, IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing):

·        Working Group 3.3 "Research on Computers in Education".

·        Working Group 3.1 (Computers in Secondary Education), and

·        Working Group 13.1 (Education and Human Computer Interaction).

 

 

 

Advisory Boards and professional committees and consultancies

 

I have been a member of many advisory boards and committees and research consultancies, for example:

 

·        Member of a national committee in Belgium for the revision of the mathematics curriculum for the elementary school (1967‑1980).

·        Central involvement in the preparation and execution of major aspects of national planning for the stimulation of information technology in education in the Netherlands (1981-1989).

·        Consultant or member of Advisory committees on learning technology and computer‑based training to Dutch companies and organisations (such as SVO, NWO, TNO, Rathenau Institute, Dutch Educational Television-Teleac/NOT, Social-Economic Council),

·        the Dutch Ministry of Education,

·        the Dutch Open University,

·        the European Community,

·        Unesco, and the International Labor Office,

·        the World Bank,

·        Shell EP Learning, Philips Centre for Technical Training.

·        Honorary Advisory Professor of East China Normal University (Shanghai). Member of EU Prometeus Steering Committee.
