I teach philosophy of technology, in particular ethics of technology, at the University of Twente, in the Netherlands. Previously I have been teaching ethics, political philosophy, and other courses at Maastricht University.

My research interests are mainly in moral and political philosophy, with a specialisation in ethics of technology. My PhD research was about freedom and autonomy (see my books). I'm interested in the role of imagination in moral reasoning (see my recent book), the relation between art and morality (e.g. see my review of Sloterdijk's Maastricht lecture), and the ethical aspects of future technology (e.g. human enhancement). Here's a list of my publications.
See also my staff page (University of Twente).
